Thursday, July 9th, Eigo Kiso 2, 9:00-10:30 and 10:40-12:10 (Class #11)

Today: You have to do a conversation worth up to 10 points to finish Unit 4. 

Session 1: Do p. 42/43, A and B. Come back to the main session. (There are many groups today, so choose a leader to tell me your answers, please.)

Session 2: Make a conversation based on p. 44, Before You Watch, #1 OR #2 OR #3. You choose.

Practise and come back to the main session.

Grading: It should total at least 30 seconds for each person, so a group of 3 people should make a conversation that lasts at least 90 seconds. TRY TO DO IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT READING. I'LL BE WATCHING!

Today: Finish Unit 3; Start Unit 4.

Session 1: Read p, 54 A; Do B. (Be careful of 6 and 7.)

Read p. 58, Student A (Bagpipes) and then; Watch this video:

Answer this question: Would you like to learn how to play the bagpipes? Why?/Why not? Your answers can be different. Come back to the main session. 

Session 2: Unit 4. Look at p, 61. Read pp 62/63, which is about 'virtual water.' Answer p. 62 #2. The textbook asks you to give those four numbers in gallons. Please convert to litres. The conversion scale is on p. 62. Come back to the main session. 

Session 3: Do p. 64, B. Come back to the main session.

Monday, July 6th, Eigo Kiso 1, 9:00-10:30 and 10:40-12:10

Today: We will continue in Unit 2: Descriptive Paragraphs

Session 1: Read p. 43, Language and Grammar Focus. Do p. 44, Exs 1 and 2. (Ex. 1 is very easy so I will not take time to check it. If you have a problem, ask me.)  Read p. 45 Language and Grammar Focus, and then at the bottom of the page, in your group, solve this problem:

  1. There is/are a cat.
  2. There is/are two dogs. 
  3. There is/are two dogs and a cat. 
  4. There is/are a cat and two dogs.

Session 2: Do p. 46 Exs. 3, 4 and 5. 

Session 3: In the space at the bottom of p. 47, solve this problem:

'They want to have a cat, but they cannot have it because their grandmother doesn't like it.' <- Is this correct English?

Do. p. 48, Ex 1. (add words, or delete and change words. Your sentences must be more specific than the originals.)

Session 1: Do p. 50, D. (It's easy, just put everything into PAST CONTINUOUS.) Read p. 52, A 'Traditional Rajasthan' and Do p. 53, B.  Come back to the main session. 

Session 2: Jump forward to p, 58, A. Choose #1 or #2 (not #3).
